QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum BA Hons (ECEC) or Equivalent with 3 years of experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
* Responsible for the overall development of the centre.
* Ensure that all policies, procedures and legal requirements are
adhered to and updated as necessary
* Provide support, supervision and appraisal to all staff.
* Maintain high level of safety, health and hygiene standards in the
service.
* Ensure the centre operates within budget and all financial and
administrative records and files are maintained
* Manage any arrears within the arrears Procedures
* Manage the utilisation of the centre maintaining a minimum of
* fulltime equivalents, and compiling a waiting
list.
* Complete funding applications and returns pertinent to the
criteria of each Scheme, ECCE, NCS, AIM and CORE Funding .
* Apply for grants relevant to the ongoing development of the
service.
* Report on a monthly basis to a Board of Management
* In conjunction with the wider team establish curriculum and room
routine that is positive secure and child centred, ensuring each
child’s individual needs are met.
* Incorporate the National Frameworks of Siolta and Aistear with the
Highscope Curriculum practiced within the service.
* Maintain individual developmental records and to be vigilant on
areas of concern by holding regular meetings with staff to review
children’s progress.
* Liaise with Social Workers, Physiologists, Public Health Nurses
and any other Professionals associated with individual children
* Undertake the duties of the designated person under Children’s
First National Guidelines and report any areas of concern
* Take an active role in Better Finglas with particular emphasis on
the Early Years strand
* To promote a good team spirit and healthy atmosphere in the centre
SOME BACK GROUND INFORMATION:
Mellow Spring Child Care Service is a not for profit, community based
early years’ service that provides Care, Support and Education for
children from 6months- * years.
We provide full-time & part-time care for children whose parents are
at work, on social welfare and in education. We also provide ECCE free
preschool (2 years) for children who will progress on to national
school or special school in some circumstances.
We cater for * children daily 8am to 6pm.

The Junior age care rooms ranges from babies 6 months to 3 years /
Preschool age care rooms from 3 years- 5years / After school 5 years

The * staff team consists of a Manager,
Childcare supervisor, * full-time
practitioners, * part-time practitioners, 4
childcare practitioners are employed as AIM (Access and Inclusion)
practitioners for children with additional educational needs, 2
Administrators, full time and part time cook, house keeper and handy
man.
